File Manager Transfer

Use this process to manually transfer your cloudLibrary titles to a device that is no longer compatible with the cloudLibrary MAC app.

If you are using a Nook GlowLightPlus with the cloudLibrary™ by bibliotheca, follow the Barnes and Noble instructions in the “Adobe® DRM eBook and PDF Support section.

Important Note for GlowLight Plus users: The GlowLight Plus must be running software version 45.1.14 or higher. To check the version of your device, go to Settings and go to 2nd page. Tap on Software. If you are not at this version, tap “Check for System Updates” The Nook will update when it goes to sleep. 

Important Note for GlowLight Plus users: You must authorize your cloudLibrary™ Mac app with your existing personal or newly created Adobe Digital Editions ID and not the suggested cloudLibrary generated Adobe id to use the GlowLight Plus. If you don’t have an id, you will need to create one, which is the first step in the NOOK instructions. You must then use that id when prompted in the cloudLibrary™ app. 

To transfer files from a Mac, you must first install the Android File Transfer application on your computer. Once this application is installed, your device will be recognized by your Mac and you can use Android File Transfer to transfer the files from your computer. To get the most recent version of Android File Transfer, please visit www.android.com/filetransfer.

1. Log in to the cloudLibrary™ Mac app. When the screen below pops up, ensure that you choose to ‘Explicitly provide an Adobe ID’ and you are entering the same Adobe ID you have authorized your e-reading device with.

2. Borrow your chosen book and navigate to the My Books tab.
3. In Applications, open Utilities and select Terminal.
4. Enter the following command into the prompt screen: write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles Yes

5. Hit Enter.
6. Close the Terminal.
7. Open a Finder window.
8. Click on your username (the name you log into your Mac with) in the left-hand panel of the Finder.

9. Open the Library folder.
10. Open the Application Support folder.
11. Open the bibliotheca folder.
12. Open the cloudLibrary™ folder.
13. Open the PROD folder.
14. Open the ebooks folder.

15. While in the ebooks folder, navigate to File menu and select Make Alias.
16. Click on the ebooks.alias folder and drag it to your Desktop folder.
17. Navigate to your Desktop folder in the Finder.
18. Open the ebooks.alias folder (going forward you can find your books here).

19. Open the Android File Transfer application.
20. Double click on the Android symbol.

21. Connect your e-reading device to your Mac with a USB cable.
22. Once the Mac recognizes your e-reading device a separate Finder window should pop up.

23. Drag and drop the ebook you would like to transfer from your ebooks.alias folder on your Mac to the My Files folder on your e-reading device.

24. Confirm the book has successfully transferred by navigating to the Library tab of your e-reading device and selecting My Files. Your book should appear here and be available for reading.

Nook GlowLightPlus Installation
